You Don’t Have to Call Yourself an Artist to Make Something Beautifuld

Together, we will bring your ideas to life and create a finished masterpiece you will be incredibly proud to display in your home or share with the world.

Uncluttered Part 7: Facing the Storms of Life

1–2 minutes

Storm is blowing in.
Trouble is bending trees.
Rain is causing floods.
Thunder’s shaking grounds.
I am not afraid.

If the weather where you live is anything like East Texas where I live, you never know what to expect. A day can start off with the most beautiful sunrise with a light balmy breeze and suddenly turn into vicious storm. We are having one of those crazy weather nights with heavy rain and tornado sirens blasting in the distance.

As I sit watching the storm blow in, I am reminded that life is like this storm. Every few minutes there is a flash of lightning and a loud clap of thunder. Things will go silent and still, but suddenly it changes. That’s life.

We get momentum going toward accomplishing our goals and fulfilling our dreams. Then  suddenly trouble appears causing setbacks and delays. How we react is going to determine our success. We can hide or retreat from our pursuits or we can find a benefit of the trouble. This storm we are having tonight is washing away layers of pollen and dust that aggravate my allergies. Trees are shaking until weak branches and dead leaves are blowing away.

How can we benefit from the storms of life?

  1. Trouble can sharpen our awareness of distractions.
  2. Trouble can uncover our lack of preparation for growth.
  3. Trouble can cause us to let go of what isn’t working in our lives.
  4. Trouble can force us to face our fears and push us to a new level of confidence.
  5. Trouble reminds us that we are not infallible and trouble is temporary.

In other words, embrace the wind, the noise, and every drop of rain that falls, There is a purpose for all of it. Don’t be afraid of it, the sun will shine tomorrow.

Isaiah 41:10 (MSG)

Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.
