Word Drops: Refresh

In my dreams last night it seemed that the characters in them were exhausted and frustrated. There were men and women of different professions deciding to give up. They were unsure if what they had to offer mattered any more. They were out of sorts and needed encouragement.

I was very busy in the dream encouraging people not to quit, but to listen to what the Lord was speaking to them and share it with courage. When people started doing what they heard, they began to overcome their weariness.

Thus our word for today is “refresh“.

The Lord is faithful. He has a plan for where He places us. Every believer has an kingdom assignment where they live, work, and worship. We get frustrated and discouraged when we take our focus off the Lord and forget that He is our source of insight and wisdom.

He gives us solutions to problems and ideas for how to start that new project, but we are often too busy to listen. We often discard ideas that He gives us, choosing to go along with what someone else is advising us in order to keep the peace or try to get ahead.

Eventually we become like David in Psalm 32 when he says, “when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.” (ESV)

The Lord desires to help us be the best version of ourselves everywhere we go. He wants to restore our souls and lead on the paths He has chosen for us. We can be refreshed when we re-align ourselves to His will.

Refresh

Galatians 6:9 (NIV) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
