A peaceful stream that lead to rest.
A loving hand that wipes away tears.
A whispered word giving hope to face a new day.
Courage to face the storms of life.
Light that outshines the darkest night.
A melodious song to chase away despair.
A God who listens and loves.
A Savior who continually prays.
A reason to ascend again.

I often find myself standing in front of a canvas or sketch book for no other reason than to meditate. During the moments I’m there my heart and mind reflect on God’s goodness, His word, and His love. From those musings I walk away with revelations and images such as the one displayed in this post.

I never thought of myself as an artist. But when I am in quiet time with the Lord, He stirs up creativity in me. I can imagine that is how musicians create beautiful worship songs.

I love that I serve a creative God who shares Himself with me. He helps me create all sorts of things. It wasn’t until I read Exodus 35 again that I realized God is the source of my creativity. He is my inspiration.

Exodus 36:30-36
Then the LORD said to Moses, “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts. Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given ability to all the skilled workers to make everything I have commanded you.
