You need to hide behind new clothes?

Who told you you are abandoned
That you should be ashamed?
Who has convinced you to wear a mask
To cover up your pain?

Who told you you are barren
That you cannot give life?
Who has convinced you to give up hope
That you’re a fruitless wife?

Who told you you are dying
That you have no shade to give?
Who has convinced you all your beauty is gone
And you have nothing for which to live?

My beloved, why do you listen
To what is not true?
Have you forgotten
I have plans for you?

You are not naked
Never alone
You have nothing to be ashamed of
Your time to be fruitful is not gone.

You have so much living to do
So many lives to touch
The people around you
Need what you have so much.

You don’t have to hide
Or turn away in disgust
You need to be selective
In whom you put your trust.

Those the Lord has rescued will return.
They will enter Zion with singing;
everlasting joy will crown their heads.
Gladness and joy will overtake them,
and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

¹² “I, even I, am he who comforts you.
Who are you that you fear mere mortals,
human beings who are but grass,
¹³ that you forget theLord your Maker,
who stretches out the heavens
and who lays the foundations of the earth,
that you live in constant terror every day
because of the wrath of the oppressor,
who is bent on destruction?
For where is the wrath of the oppressor?
¹⁴ The cowering prisoners will soon be set free;
they will not die in their dungeon,
nor will they lack bread.

who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar—
the Lord Almightyis his name.
¹⁶ I have put my words in your mouth
and covered you with the shadow of my hand—
